Investment Research Specialist- Japan Focus (Dalian, China based)
Programme Details
As a research specialist, you will provide all round research including company and industry analysis, financial modeling, valuations, sector/country updates, database maintenance, and other thematic research.
Upon joining, all Investment Specialists receive intensive two-month training on our research framework and research tools. You will learn how to build detailed financial models, preliminary forecasts, valuation metrics, and sensitivity and scenario analysis. You will also learn how to create company primers – including detailed company descriptions, business model, operating and financial performance, key stock price drivers and key risks. At the same time, you will build valuable knowledge about industry structures, historical backgrounds, value chain analysis, demand-supply scenarios and the key indicators that drive an industry. We will ensure the specialists become comfortable of the work before they are assigned to any sectors.
This role is based in Dalian China and focus on Japan market. After the training, the specialists will be assigned to work with analysts based in Tokyo. They will travel to Tokyo office from time to time. Over two-to-three years we will ensure the specialists be equipped with solid research skills and sector knowledge, and become capable to conduct in-depth research on their own on any companies and sectors. They will also build up their own investment ideas and a good understanding of investment framework and key drivers’ over the two-to-three years, and become comfortable with capital market.

China Equity Research Associate
Programme Details
Our Equity Research team is responsible for analysing company financial statements, assessing their trading environment and evaluating their management. To help form an opinion and become a sector expert they will talk to company managers, industry experts, consumers and suppliers so as to make a buy or sell recommendation to the Portfolio Manager – a critical factor in their decision making. We call it a bottom-up approach to stock picking.
Graduate programme
During your time as an Equity Research graduate you’ll rotate around several industry sectors to build the experience you need to go from Associate to either a Career Analyst or Portfolio Manager. It’s a small, hand-picked programme giving you real work from day one and significant access to senior managers – you could be dealing directly with CEOs inside your first quarter. We’ll also help you to reach the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst qualification (CFA) most likely within your first year.

Programme Details

Fixed Income Graduate Program - Asia
Programme Details
Our Fixed Income Investment team manages money for investors across the globe. They do it by working collaboratively to look beyond traditional sources of information on risk to get the most intelligent, complete picture of an investment opportunity. It is home to some of the Industry’s most respected Portfolio Managers, Credit Research Analysts, Traders, Quantitative Research specialists and Product Managers dealing in a range of Fixed Income assets, including corporate bonds, US Treasury bonds, and gilts.
Graduate programme
On this two-year programme, you’ll spend at least three months in each of our Credit Research, Quantitative Research, Trading and Product Management departments witha roration to our London office. Together, the experience you gain will give you a detailed understanding of Fixed Income Investments so that at the end of the programme you’ll be well positioned to know which area you’d like to move into on a permanent basis.

How does the recruitment process work?

Is there an induction scheme?
Yes. All employees participate in the Company induction day and ongoing programmes are then tailored to the particular needs of the individual and the department they work in.
Will I be thrown in at the deep end?
