It can't be! 這不可能!
在談話當(dāng)中，倘若對(duì)方提出了一件新的消息是你認(rèn)為無法置信的、或太不可思議的事情，就可以用“It can't be!”來表達(dá)你的驚訝或無法相信的態(tài)度。也可以用“I can't believe it!”或“lt's incredible!”代替之。

Billy:It seems we've met somewhere before.Are you my elementary school classrnate?
比利：我們好使在哪兒見過,你是我小學(xué)同學(xué)嗎?
Angel:I don't think so.I've taught Biology in auniversity for many years.

Billy:You look so young.
比利：這不可能!你看起來這么年輕。
Angel: Don't flatter me.
安琪：別抬舉我了。
Billy認(rèn)為他好像在哪兒見過Angel，而當(dāng)Angel講出自己的職生時(shí),Billy著實(shí)嚇了一跳,因此以“It can't be!”來表達(dá)自己的驚訝。此處也可以講“Are you kidding?” (你在開玩笑嗎?)來表達(dá)吃驚。

Matthew告訴Elizabeth他在動(dòng)物園看到一只很大的青蛙，Elizabeth簡直不敢相信，直呼不可能“lt can't be!”這段對(duì)話中的“眼見為憑”，也可以寫成“To see is to believe.”
