1. get acquainted (with…) (和`……)認(rèn)識(shí),熟悉……

3. (a) force to be reckoned with 值得注意的人物

"(a) force","力量",可以指一個(gè)團(tuán)體、事物或個(gè)人； "reckon"在此的意思為"認(rèn)定"。 "a force to be reckoned with"是形容"有成功的條件而值得注意的人物、團(tuán)體"。

例: The new company will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

4. Don#39;t I know it. 我完全同意!

當(dāng)此句型以句點(diǎn)(.)而非問號(hào)結(jié)尾時(shí),表示完全同意對(duì)的方意見,為口語(yǔ)用法,強(qiáng)調(diào)的是肯定的含意。意思為"我怎會(huì)不知道!?；我當(dāng)然明白這一點(diǎn)!"。

例: You say the discount rate is too low? Don#39;t I know it!

5. in a nutshell 簡(jiǎn)言之

"nutshell"原為"堅(jiān)果殼",又指"極小的容器",故 "in a nutshell" 這個(gè)副詞短語(yǔ)的意思是"簡(jiǎn)言之"。

例: Bob told us in a nutshell what happened in the managers#39; meeting.

(Bob簡(jiǎn)略地告訴我們經(jīng)理們開會(huì)的情形。)

6. growth sector 成長(zhǎng)領(lǐng)域

這個(gè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)上的名詞是指經(jīng)濟(jì)成長(zhǎng)特別快速的領(lǐng)域, "sector"是"區(qū)域；部門"的意思。

例: The leisure and entertainment industry is a growth sector in Taiwan.
