1949年十月一日下午3時(shí)，北京30萬人在天安門廣場(chǎng)隆重舉行典禮，慶祝中華人民共和國(guó)中央人民政府成立。毛主席宣讀了《中華人民共和國(guó)中央人民政府公告》："中華人民共和國(guó)中央人民政府為代表中華人民共和國(guó)全國(guó)人民唯一合法政府。凡愿遵守平等、互利及互相尊重領(lǐng)土主權(quán)等項(xiàng)原則的任何外國(guó)政府，本政府均愿與之建立外交關(guān)系。"隨即舉行閱兵式和群眾游行。朱德總司令檢閱了海陸空軍，并宣布《中國(guó)人民解放軍總部命令》，命令中國(guó)人民解放軍迅速肅清國(guó)民黨一切殘余武裝，解放一切尚未解放的國(guó)土。同日，北京新華廣播電臺(tái)在天安門廣場(chǎng)進(jìn)行中華人民共和國(guó)開國(guó)大典實(shí)況廣播。這是中國(guó)人民廣播史上第一次大規(guī)模的實(shí)況廣播，全國(guó)各地人民廣播電臺(tái)同時(shí)聯(lián)播。
