Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write acomposition of no less than 150 words on the topic Whether CollegeStudents Should Be Allowed to Get Married and youre your article onthe following outline.

  1. Choose either of the two positions: College students should be allowed to get married.

  2. State your reasons for or against the issue

  3. Conclusion

Should College Students Be Allowed to Get Married?

There isno denying the fact that it is a hotly debated topic today whethercollege students should be allowed to get married. Some time ago, theban was lifted by some universities on students getting married. Tothis peoples attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that most college students are adults and that it is a basicright for those who have reached the appropriate ages to get married.Besides, they argue that with their biological and emotional needs met, these students will study better. The ban on this means a severeviolation of human rights.

Many others, however, hold the negative opposite view. Theyclaim that the university or college is a place to study instead of acommunity to lead family life. Allowing college students to get marriedwould adversely affect their study. For instance, they would spend toomuch time attending their family and love, unable to concentrate ontheir school work.

Some people tend tostick to their positions all the time,as they think the longer one works in a particular field, the more skillful one will be at it.Some have been teachers all their lives. Some devote all their energy to scientific research.Such people love their work and turn out to be specialists in their own fields. They are usually high achievers.

Some are different. They are in the habit of job-hopping,for they always purpose what is new and stimulating. They never seem content with their present situations. They like to meetmore people, make more money and new acquaintances,so they hop from job to job.

As far as I am concerned,I am not in favour of constant job-hopping.I believe in a famous proverb,A rolling stone gather no moss.I want to be professionally strong. And I respect those who devote themselves to their affectionate jobs throughout their life.

There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic whether students should attend military training in China in the past years. Opinions on this issue differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that the training can not only build up students’ bodies but also temper their willpower. Besides, through the training, students can develop their team-spirit and sense of discipline.

Others, however, hold the opposite view. They say that a short period of training as students are having now cannot work well in building up their bodies or strengthen their will. Instead, we should lay emphasis on their daily exercise and activities for such purpose. What’s more, a sudden increase of intense physical exercise, especially during summer, does harm to students’ health and may even cause deaths. What happened in the past years has proved this.

Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the former point of view. Military training is not only a means to strengthen student’s physique and willpower, but also an effective way to enhance their sense of national defense and foster their patriotism. Though some deaths happened during the training, we should not give up eating for fear of choking. Besides, the deaths are perfect evidence that students need more such training. Of course, measures should be taken to ensure that the least harm is done to the trainees.

The Most Impressive Course in My College

When it comes to a course that leaves the deepest impression in university, different people stand on different grounds. As for me, the most impressive course in college is “Appreciation of English Movies”, which I like best. I prefer this curriculum to others owing to the following factors.

On one hand, the professor in charge of this course has impressed me most because she is not only knowledgeable but also patient. More importantly, it is this respectable teacher who spurs my interest to English harder and broadens my horizon as well. Until now, what she said in the class often occurs to my mind. On the other hand, there are many discussions in the classroom when we have lessons. We are allowed to talk freely about a movie, the topic ranging from the theme of a film to its casting. So, during the talk, we become increasingly open-minded. And undoubtedly a brain open to everything carries great importance to study, work and life.

Generally speaking, the course on appreciating English films has impressed me most for it is not only instructive but also entertaining. And therefore, I suggest that more similar courses should be offered in the university.

Recently a blind date including 20 young men and women has been held by an organization。 Some people see it as a good way to meet different people while others argue that its not possible to find ones partner between two people who have not previously met。 As far as Im concerned, blind dating is worth trying and you can find your true love there!

First of all, nowadays many young people are always busying with their work; therefore they have little spare time to meet with their future partner, leading to more and more leftover women and men。 According to a study, a happy life includes work and family balance, which means a harmonious family including the couple may contribute to a comparably happy life。

Whats more, during a blind date, usually the basic information is given to both parts; therefore its more reliable to know a persons family background, his or her job, religion etc。 As is known to all, a couple should have the same belief in value, wealth, thus preventing many potential conflicts。

Last but not least, through blind dates, one can meet people with different personalities, thus having a clearer idea about which kind of person is suitable for being a lifelong mate。 And blind dates are also great chances to make friends in the same age group。

To sum up, blind dating can be a good way to find ones future husband or wife。 Its feasible and reliable。 Hope that everyone can find true love in blind dates!

The undergraduate, who is on his way to a job interview, is stunned after hearing a ridiculous condition: the position is only for the man born in the year of dog. More ironically, a dog is eager to try. Conspicuously, that is a horrible depiction concerning the discrimination in job market. Over the past years, all kinds of discriminations(改為discrimination,它是一個不可數(shù)名詞) have (has) been condemned or made illegal, but one insidious form continue to thrive: some harsh conditions some employers imposed when recruit new,(句子成分不清,建議改為some harsh conditions are imposed on the employers when a company recruit new) ranging from height to household registration. So, what cause(改為causes) these problems? Firstly, thetremendous number of graduates- still mounting each year- make organizations powerless to screen out right candidates. (本句話說服力不夠強(qiáng)) For which(改為this) reason, numerous bizarre approaches have come out to find “the right person”. Moreover, the current state of affairs may have been encouraged by lack of severe penalty and punishment to those arrogant organizations who(改為which) shrink the obligation of selecting eligible staff. A good case in point is one of my roommates, with excellent performance in the job interview, failed to obtain the occupation(本句話可改為who performs excellently in the job interview, but fails to obtain the occupation,若要按作者的寫法,應(yīng)該在failed之前加but,用來連接兩個簡單句,且將failed改為fail) as a consequence of inadequate height. The clear message is that we should get moving to launch a war against those irresponsible companies. Just as rejecting those duty-shrinking corporations, making complaint to administrator as long as we meet this situation.(整句話沒有謂語動詞,且administrator使用不當(dāng),本句話可改為:To reject the duty-shrinking corporations, we should report the situation to the relevant authorities) More significantly, the authorities should charge with the obligation of laying down associate-effective discipline which seems appropriate in the light of current situation. By these methods, we will surely get through this tough period before long.
