Plastic Surgery
Appearance was once regarded as something we were born with and fixed. However, it is a different story now. Thanks to the advanced medical technology, people are able to change their original faces or other body parts, and plastic surgery now enjoys great popularity around the world.
People take plastic surgery for different reasons. Some spend a great deal of money on the plastic surgery because they dream of becoming a film or TV star but they are not beautiful by birth. Some, however, have to take the surgery because of certain birth defects, such as harelip and lameness, and injuries in accidents. There emerges a new group nowadays — college fresh female grads who insist that a beauty will land a job much more easily.
In my view, it’s not necessary that people try to beautify themselves. What we should bear in mind is that being natural is being beautiful. What’s more, people should judge others by their capacity instead of their appearances.

The Most Impressive Course in My College
When it comes to a course that leaves the deepest impression in university, different people stand on different grounds. As for me, the most impressive course in college is “Appreciation of English Movies”, which I like best. I prefer this curriculum to others owing to the following factors.
On one hand, the professor in charge of this course has impressed me most because she is not only knowledgeable but also patient. More importantly, it is this respectable teacher who spurs my interest to English harder and broadens my horizon as well. Until now, what she said in the class often occurs to my mind. On the other hand, there are many discussions in the classroom when we have lessons. We are allowed to talk freely about a movie, the topic ranging from the theme of a film to its casting. So, during the talk, we become increasingly open-minded. And undoubtedly a brain open to everything carries great importance to study, work and life.
Generally speaking, the course on appreciating English films has impressed me most for it is not only instructive but also entertaining. And therefore, I suggest that more similar courses should be offered in the university.

Nowadays, it is becoming commonplace that many college students pay by credit card while shopping. And advanced consumptions has become a fashion among youngsters.
There are many pros and cons about credit card used by college students. Some people are in favor of the credit card consumptions, pointing out the fact that it is a more convenient and safe way compared with the traditional way of paying by cash, which is easy to lose and not environmentally friendly. While others argue that college students are too young to use credit card rationally. They are more likely to spend money recklessly without considering whether they have capability to return it on time. What’s worse, those who cannot control their desire to consume will end up involving in financial crisis and damaged personal credit.
From my point of view, though credit card indeed brings a lot of convenience to our life and changes the way of consumptions, we should always keep a sober mind and utilize it properly.
