　　“以誠動(dòng)人”：在科學(xué)史上，法拉弟之所以能成為名震全球的科學(xué)家，就得益于截維寫的別具一格的“求職信”。戴維(1788-1829)是十九世紀(jì)英國著名的化學(xué)家，二十三歲便被聘為英國皇家學(xué)會(huì)主講。法拉弟(1791-1867)原來是一個(gè)學(xué)徒，每天默默無聞地做訂書工作。但他有志于科學(xué)，特別崇拜戴維，他渴望能當(dāng)戴維的助手，為了求得戴維指教。1813年法拉弟冒昧地給戴維寫了一封信，寄了自己認(rèn)認(rèn)真真整理好的自己親自去旁聽的戴維講演記錄，表示自己對(duì)科學(xué)的熱心以及求師的誠意。他當(dāng)時(shí)只想碰碰運(yùn)氣。誰知，戴維很快回了信，并約法拉弟面談。因?yàn)榇骶S看到法拉弟的自薦信和有獨(dú)特見解的講演記錄，看出這個(gè)青年徒工是個(gè)很有前途的科技新苗，而且被他的誠意所感動(dòng)。見面后，戴維毅然決定請(qǐng)法拉弟做看書的助手，安排在皇家學(xué)院實(shí)驗(yàn)室工作。就這樣，在戴維的幫助下，法拉弟終于成了偉大的科學(xué)家，當(dāng)上了英國皇家學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)員。
