Survey Report on Employment
1 Introduction
In the last two decades, owning to education, we witnessed a rapid development in industry, agriculture, science and technology in China. Education can not only eich people’s knowledge, but also improve people’s moral standard as a whole. However, with the new higher education policies coming into effect, a growing number of college students are fully aware of the uncertainties of their future careers. How to find a right niche for ourselves?
As a result, we did this study aims to investigate the influence factors of graduating students’ employment. We hope we can offer some advises for college students based on the findings of our research.
65 graduating students from Shandong University were investigated and 65 questionnaires are valid. The questionnaire is both in electronic form and papery form. We collect the data and type the result into computer. Besides, in order to make the result more directviewing, we use Excel to make diagrams. Through our statistical analysis, the results indicated that most of the college students want to get a stable job with a high salary. And they tend to work in big cities or work abroad where there has a good development prospect.
2 Research Design
2.1 Research Questions:
The questionnaire is clearly set out in appendix I.
More specifically, the following questions were addressed:
1. Personally, does gender has impact on applying for jobs?
2. In your opinion, which of the following abilities will be the advantage when you look for a job?
3. Do you think what ability needs to be improved when you look for a job?
2.2 Participants:
65 graduating students from Shandong University were investigated. 40 of them filled in the questionnaire online. The students who have been surveyed were voluntary. And the average age of students was 20. And 30 percent of the students are male and 70 percent of the students are female.
2.3 Instrument:
It was designed by Li Yaru, and it was developed in English to evaluate the thought of graduating students’ view in employment. And the questionnaire contained 11 items in total, including 10 choice questions and an essay question. Modifications of the questionnaire were made by Zhang Yinwei, Wang Rui and Liu Yang.
2.4 Data Collection:
The questionnaire was administered on 12nd, May. Students were surveyed randomly online. And students were asked to complete the questionnaire honestly and carefully. In addition, students were assured to complete anonymity of answers.
2.5 Data Analysis:
The data collected from questionnaires were entered
into Excel for statistical analysis. Bar chart is applied to evaluate the number of male students and female students. And Pie charts were used to analyze the results of the rest of the questions. 3 Findings:
1. What is your gender?
65 graduating students from Shandong Univercity were investigated, including 13 girls and 52 boys.
2. Which job channel do you tend to choose?
According to investigation result, about 68% students tend to choose the way through friends or relatives to look for work. The result may be due to the Chinese old saying, at home one relies on one’s parents and outside on one’s friends. Our familiar people never deceive us. Although most people tend to relatives and help find work, but there are still roughly 17% the graduates want to look for a job through
recruitment fair. This suggests that some college students tend to find a job by own efforts.
3. After graduation, which field do you hope to work?
It is surprised that 89% of college students are not willing to work in a
major-related field. They think the university teaches learning methods instead of professional knowledge. As a result, a cross-professional job will not affect the future development, and this will give them more challenges in the wok.
4. Do you think which your preferred salary standard is?
For graduating students, the salary of their first job should not be too high. But it is found that 46% of people choose the highest salary. This suggests that some of the graduates are full of themselves. In their mind, such work is not worth doing. This is also the reason why a lot of college students can't find work.
5. In the process of looking for a job search, which will hinder your choice?
In the process of looking for a job, the biggest obstacle is poor working conditions. With the improvement of living standard, many college students are pampered and they can’t bear the poor working environment. Therefore, 51% the people want to have good working conditions. In addition, salary is another big obstacle.

Personally, does gender has impact on applying for jobs?
Obviously, most of the students think the gender has impact on applying for a job. Nowadays, with the rapid development of our society and economy, there have emerged many working opportunities. But there exists a problem that high-level jobs are mostly occupied by men even though some women are also competent. That disagrees with the equality of men and women. It is a well-known fact that there are many women, Madame Curit and Margreat Thatcher, to name only a few, in history who work as scientists and politicians. When we talk about this phenomenon, first we must admit that there exist some differences between men and women. Then we should know that neither side could be regarded better or worse. For example, if you say men are often calm and objective, but don’t you see some men are more careless than women? Besides, if you think women are always hesitant and sensitive, and then what would you say when they behave thoughtfully in work? Therefore there are not absolute advantages for men when considering their gender. Personally, I firmly believe that women should be given the same rights as men, because they are equally important in all human activities. However, this kind of prejudice has been existing for a long time. No matter men or women have been affected more or less; this idea has even made some women lose confidence in themselves. Therefore our whole society and especially our government should take efficient measure to encourage a certain percentage of jobs especially high-level jobs to be reserved for women. Through this way, we would hopefully see that more and more outstanding women can be working in their favorite jobs and can get their desirable position. And just by that our working field can be called a kind of equality of men and women.
7. Where is your ideal working place?
52% of college students want to go to the east regions after graduation. 6% of college students want to go to the middle China. And there are respectively 39% and 3% of college students want to go to the north regions and the west regions. In my opinion, most of college students want to go to east regions. It may be because that the eastern economic prosperity. There are a lot of job opportunities and there have more space for development. And some cities in middle China, such as Wuhan Xi’an Zhengzhou, also have good jobs to do. But the environment of the western and northern is not so good, so very few people were willing to go and work there.

目前,高等學(xué)校在職業(yè)教育方面存在著一些突出問題,學(xué)校教育與學(xué)生就業(yè)及市場對人才的需求相脫節(jié),教學(xué)實(shí)效性較差,教學(xué)工作處于尷尬局面。在采用抽樣調(diào)查法、問卷調(diào)查、走訪等方法后,對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)市場人才需求的狀況,對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)學(xué)生教學(xué)及課程開發(fā)的要求等情況進(jìn)行了調(diào)查與分析,以有利于改革高職高專教育和教學(xué)工作。
就業(yè)市場商務(wù)英語人才需求
在國民教育體系中,職業(yè)教育是一個(gè)不可忽視的重要組成部分,因?yàn)樗谴龠M(jìn)經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)發(fā)展和勞動(dòng)就業(yè)的重要途徑。職業(yè)教育就是就業(yè)教育,社會(huì)需求是職業(yè)教育的生產(chǎn)力。只有堅(jiān)持改革、創(chuàng)新,根據(jù)市場需求,及時(shí)調(diào)整專業(yè),才是職業(yè)教育可持續(xù)發(fā)展的根本途徑。
20xx年8月至20xx年9月,吉林省教育學(xué)院外語系《高職商務(wù)英語專業(yè)課程開發(fā)與課程設(shè)置改革的研究》課題組在吉林省、遼寧省、浙江省以及北京、上海、深圳、杭州、義烏、大連等地進(jìn)行一次市場人才需求社會(huì)問卷抽樣調(diào)查,力圖調(diào)查社會(huì)對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)人才的需求情況,了解一些基本情況及所占比例,為商務(wù)英語專業(yè)進(jìn)一步發(fā)展提供依據(jù),并按社會(huì)需求和就業(yè)導(dǎo)向進(jìn)行課程開發(fā)和改革,重新制定以就業(yè)為導(dǎo)向,以學(xué)生職業(yè)生涯規(guī)劃為主線的>教學(xué)計(jì)劃,使專業(yè)及其課程設(shè)置更趨完善、有效,并符合當(dāng)代社會(huì)發(fā)展的需要,具有時(shí)效性。
一、關(guān)于調(diào)查問卷
1、問卷調(diào)查的問題
本次調(diào)查問卷是由課題組成員共同設(shè)計(jì)的。由三部分組成,即調(diào)查單位基本情況、主體問卷以及對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)課程設(shè)置的情況調(diào)查,共設(shè)計(jì)問題35個(gè),其中調(diào)研單位及被調(diào)查者個(gè)人基本情況5個(gè),市場人才需求和課程設(shè)置調(diào)查具體問題30個(gè)。
2、問卷調(diào)查的途徑
此次調(diào)查問卷發(fā)放采取的方式有兩種,一是郵寄問卷,二是通過走訪的方式,直接到調(diào)查單位發(fā)放問卷,與管理者進(jìn)行面對面的交流和采訪,并把答卷當(dāng)場提交上來。郵寄的調(diào)查問卷以及走訪單位的范圍包括全國5個(gè)省、12個(gè)市,共發(fā)放問卷500份,收回問卷156份,其中有效問卷128份。
二、基本情況
本次調(diào)查的單位主要涉及國營和事業(yè)單位、民營企業(yè)、中外合資企業(yè)、商貿(mào)和股份
制公司、個(gè)體及私營公司等。從企業(yè)規(guī)?,大型企業(yè)占22、0%、中型企業(yè)占31、5%、小型企業(yè)占46、5%。從企業(yè)的經(jīng)濟(jì)類型看,國有企業(yè)占10、4%、民營企業(yè)占23、5%、中外合資企業(yè)占9、0%、商貿(mào)和股份合作制公司占25、5%、個(gè)體和私營公司占31、6%。
調(diào)查以公司和>企業(yè)管理者為對象,其中企業(yè)經(jīng)營者職務(wù)為董事長、總經(jīng)理、廠長、企業(yè)高層副職占26、0%,市場部及人事部經(jīng)理職務(wù)占38、5%,工程師和技術(shù)人員8、7%,公司職員17、5%,其它職務(wù)占9、3%。受調(diào)查的128人中,男性占64、1%,女性占35、9%、
三、對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)人才需求情況
在本次調(diào)查中,在問到調(diào)查單位目前是否有引進(jìn)商務(wù)英語人才計(jì)劃時(shí),有60、9%的單位選擇了“有”;暫未考慮和沒有的分別為23、4%和15、6%。這說明市場對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)畢業(yè)生需求是比較大的,培養(yǎng)的前景是樂觀的。調(diào)查中,認(rèn)為最受企業(yè)歡迎的商務(wù)英語專業(yè)畢業(yè)生類型是“學(xué)習(xí)成績好,并具有較強(qiáng)的社交能力的”占60%,其次是“社交能力強(qiáng)”的占27、9%,而“學(xué)習(xí)成績好”的占12、1%、可見綜合素質(zhì)高是最受歡迎的畢業(yè)生類型。
在問到對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)畢業(yè)生的具體要求(可多種)時(shí),提出“英語口語好”的比例最多占61、6%,依次是“交際能力強(qiáng)”占53、8%,“具有扎實(shí)的基本功,業(yè)務(wù)能力強(qiáng)”占42、6%,“有一定的商務(wù)實(shí)踐能力”占40、5%,“英語+商務(wù)”占19%,畢業(yè)生“要過英語四級”的占18、5%,“有國家二級計(jì)算機(jī)證書”的占10、3%,“具有良好的職業(yè)道德和就業(yè)觀念”占5、6%,“形象氣質(zhì)佳”的占3、1%。
對于職業(yè)資格證書對畢業(yè)生是否重要的問題上,調(diào)查單位表示重要的比例為45%,認(rèn)為不太重要,重實(shí)際能力的占54、7%。由此可看出用人單位已傾向于看重畢業(yè)生的實(shí)際能力和水平,但從統(tǒng)計(jì)的比例數(shù)也可看出目前不少單位還是重視畢業(yè)生是否擁有各種證書。
四、對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)學(xué)生教學(xué)及課程開發(fā)的要求調(diào)查
在本次調(diào)查中,調(diào)查單位對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)教學(xué)和課程設(shè)置的`問題是比較關(guān)心的。在問到商業(yè)英語專業(yè)的英語基礎(chǔ)課是否需要以商務(wù)內(nèi)容為學(xué)習(xí)材料時(shí),有82、5%的單位選擇了同意;不同意也不反對和不同意的分別占12、3%和5、2%。這表明商務(wù)英語專業(yè)的英語基礎(chǔ)課的教材以商務(wù)內(nèi)容為學(xué)習(xí)英語技能的材料是符合市場需求的。
在商務(wù)英語專業(yè)的專業(yè)課教學(xué)應(yīng)該用英語進(jìn)行還是借助漢語講授的問題上,同意借助漢語講授商務(wù)知識的比例最高占45、3%,同意用英語講述的比例占33、6%,不同意也不反對的比例是21、1%?梢,贊成借助本族語學(xué)習(xí)商務(wù)知識的比重較大,說明專業(yè)知識的學(xué)習(xí)與英語技能的培養(yǎng)相關(guān)性不是十分大。
在問到針對商務(wù)英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生在大學(xué)期間應(yīng)開設(shè)哪些課程為好時(shí),有31、5%的經(jīng)營者建議開設(shè)“商業(yè)英語精讀”和“商業(yè)英語聽說”課程;要求開設(shè)“>國際貿(mào)易實(shí)務(wù)”、“商務(wù)禮儀”和“>市場營銷學(xué)”的比重也較大分別為25、6%、14、1%和10、9%;
“商務(wù)英語寫作”占18%,“>電子商務(wù)”占16、3%,“國際金融”15、3%,“經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)”占14、6%,還有提出開設(shè)“>社會(huì)學(xué)”和“管理學(xué)”等。
五、存在的主要問題及改進(jìn)建議
通過此次調(diào)查了解到,用人單位對學(xué)校培養(yǎng)學(xué)生方面有較高的要求,其中認(rèn)為學(xué)校應(yīng)該培養(yǎng)學(xué)生能夠與各種人打交道,具有較強(qiáng)的溝通能力的比例最高達(dá)到了43、5%,其次是:培養(yǎng)學(xué)生具有較強(qiáng)的實(shí)務(wù)操作能力(21、5%)、培養(yǎng)能力和知識相并重的學(xué)生(19、3%)不太清楚或無建議(15%)。
在問到“您作為用人單位,能否就高等職業(yè)院校商務(wù)英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生培養(yǎng)方面,提出一些寶貴意見和建議”時(shí),有的調(diào)查單位表現(xiàn)出很強(qiáng)的社會(huì)負(fù)責(zé)感,提出了很多建設(shè)性的意見和建議,歸納起來有以下幾個(gè)方面;1)提高學(xué)生的整體素質(zhì);2)培養(yǎng)思想道德好的學(xué)生;3)要求學(xué)生打好英語語言基礎(chǔ),口語流利并具有較強(qiáng)的商務(wù)實(shí)踐能力;4)學(xué)校要注重教學(xué)質(zhì)量;5)找實(shí)踐單位,參加社會(huì)實(shí)踐學(xué)習(xí),進(jìn)行實(shí)用型教育;6)要培養(yǎng)學(xué)生具有一定的書面表達(dá)和翻譯能力;7)鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生增強(qiáng)自信精神;8)培養(yǎng)學(xué)生具有社會(huì)交往能力,提高整體形象等。
從此次調(diào)查問卷可以看出,用人單位對畢業(yè)生和學(xué)校的要求都具有較強(qiáng)的實(shí)用性和針對性的特點(diǎn),既要求學(xué)生有較高的英語語言技能,尤其是英語口語水平,又需要學(xué)生具有較好的商務(wù)實(shí)踐和商務(wù)溝通能力,也對學(xué)校提出了培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的綜合素質(zhì)和提高教育教學(xué)質(zhì)量的要求。這些調(diào)查結(jié)果應(yīng)引起我們極大的關(guān)注和重視,有待在今后的商務(wù)英語專業(yè)教學(xué)中進(jìn)行調(diào)整和強(qiáng)化,它也是進(jìn)行商務(wù)英語專業(yè)課程開發(fā)和課程設(shè)置改革的重要依據(jù),具有寶貴的參考和實(shí)用價(jià)值。

A Survey About The Patriotic Emotion Of
University Students Nowadays, China is developing very fast. And this is a great chance for us to catch up with those world powers. But we are also faced with many problems. For instance, our national security can`t be guaranteed, and our motherland has not been unified. So, it`s really of vital importance for us Chinese to love our motherland, especially our youngsters, who are the hope of our country.
We organize this investigation in order to find out the current condition of how university students love our country. According to the results, we want to put forward some useful suggestions for the patriotism education in university. And we hope our investigation could be helpful for our patriotism education. Firstly, we make questionnaires concerned with patriotism. Then we distributed them to our classmates. After they finished doing them, we take them back and get our conclusion from their answers. After we got the statistical data according to the answers to the questionnaire, we made the graphics below to reveal the results. Some of the graphics are shown below.

The results of our survey show to us that the contemporary college students have good patriotic feelings. We have relatively deep understanding of patriotism and most of us are willing to accept patriotism education. We are concerned about the history, tradition and
production condition of China. We also enjoy the achievement after the reform and opening up of China. Few of our college students tend to escape joining the army, and what is encouraging is that almost all the students are proud of our race and country.
In conclusion: We found through the phenomenon that college students in the new era are patriotic. Universities should further strengthen the education of patriotism to keep students being aware of patriotism all the time. Our teachers should encourage students to work hard to become outstanding architects of new China in the future. From our point of view, we must be determined patriots and struggle to become someone useful for our motherland.
